ReplyDeleteNot unlucky really. I believe the player in question took 8 wickets in the game. Who knows what the result might have been if he didn't play. Alford may not have won the game. If you break the rule you have to pay the penalty.

if there was an award for the ugliest team in the lincs league...i think based on these photos..Scunthorpe win hands down!
ReplyDeleteWhilst I agree that breaking the rules should lead to a punishment, I don't exactly consider it within the spirit of the game that "someone" took it upon themselves to phone around Premier League clubs advising them to make a complaint over the matter. I daresay if Irving had taken no wickets and got a duck no one would have complained!!
