ANN BOULTON PREVIEWS THE FINAL SATURDAY OF THE LINCOLNSHIRE E.C.B. SEASON

READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE

September 15th preview

With Haxey crowned Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League champions in their first season back in the top flight, the race is now between Bracebridge Heath and Skegness for runners-up.
Bracebridge need 11 points from their final match at Haxey to be sure of that second place finish but will face a tough battle against the triumphant village side who intend to go out on a high note.
Skegness, too, will be made to fight for every point as Market Deeping seek the win that will keep them above Boston and give them hope of staying in the league.
Boston and Deeping’s survival depends on results in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League and the South Lincolnshire & Border League and whether the winners meet the criteria for a place in the ECB Premier League and wish to be promoted.
Boston travel to Grimsby who are destined for seventh or eighth place, depending on the result of Bourne’s game at home to Sleaford who could finish third in the table, a position that will please them after a bad start to the season.
Hartsholme, for so long languishing to 12th place, are now safe and will be aiming to celebrate with a final victory - which could bring a tight game at Woodhall Spa whose early promise of a top three finish ebbed away but who could still finish fourth if Sleaford slip up.
Lindum also occupied the lower reaches of the league for some time but now lie sixth, just three behind Woodhall and will also be looking to go out with a flourish when they visit 10th placed Louth.

Fixtures – 11.30 start
Bourne v Sleaford
Grimsby v Boston
Hartsholme v Woodhall Spa
Haxey v Bracebridge Heath
Louth v Lindum
Skegness v Market Deeping
