The destination of the North Lindsey Cricket League Division
One trophy remains in the balance as both Scunthorpe Town 4ths and
Appleby-Frodingham 3rds can still finish top of the pile.
Ramesh and Gamesh Chand hit 79 and 55 respectively at Barton
as Scunthorpe posted a total of 233 for 3 , Adam McDermott taking 3 for 70 for
the Vikings and the Aussie then top scored on 63 as they replied with 208 for 6
, Lewis Barnes hitting 48 and Will Yates 46 , the result leaving the
Humbersiders four points adrift at the foot of the table with three games
remaining.
Appleby-Frodingham maintained their title challenge when they
beat Grimsby Town by at Augusta Street , Kieron Lindley scoring 61 with 36 from
Paul Hilton , 32 from Kieron Watson and 31 from Jack Dixon in a total of 230 for
8 , Diseko taking 5 for 41 for Grimsby who were then bowled out for 133 ,
Brendan Volley scoring 37 of those as Jack Dixon picked up 4 for 27.
The one other Division One match saw Caistor Cougars set a
target of 126 against Broughton 3rds , Dominic Bishop hitting 36 with Andy
Hillyard taking 3 for 40 then Nick Dobbs guided Broughton to a six wicket
victory as he made 40 not out.

DIVISION TWO
Hibaldstow clinched the Second Division title with ahard
earned victory over a determined Barton Town 4ths. Jim Bore scored 62 and Dale
Coy 50 as Jon Taylor's men scored 167 , Mike Hinchliff taking 3 for 36 and he
then went on to hit 51 as arton threatened to spoil the promotion party , Andy
Genney also making a valuable 38 before his side fell 30 short , Joe Taylor
picking up 3 for 34 to take his seasons wicket tally to 50 in all games , a fine
haul for a 14 year old. Alkbrough 3rds were awarded the points for their
postponed game v Cleethorpes who were unable to raise a team due to a 20 / 20
tournamet at Chichester Road whilst Messingham gave the NLL committee a headache
when they beat Misterton to move them level on points with Alkborough in second
place. Danny Rands top scored with 69 as Messingham made 189 for 9 , Hackney
taking 4 for 22 for Misterton who replied with 125 for 9 , Tom Denman scoring 44
with Callum Sanderson picking up 5 for 19. Both Alkborough and Messingham have
won one game each in their head to head so the committee will have to meet and
decide on what course of action to take with regard to the outcome of who is
promoted.

Upton cum Kexby climbed into second place after beating
Broughton 4ths by four wickets , Tom Reed hitting 54 ( his second successive
half century against them ) as Broughton were bowled out for 93 Andrew Slater
taking 4 for 21 for Upton who then replied with 94 for 6 thanks chiefly to Todd
Wray who scored 27 not out and Dan Watt 26 although Phil Dewfall in particular
made they scrap when taking 5 for 40 for the visitors. Finally there wasa wlcome
first win of the season for Blyth CC in what was their last match but it was a
real thriller at Normanby Park who scored 120 with Mark Knapton hitting 34 and
Jack Cowling 22 , Dalton taking 4 for 12 for Blyth who then squeezed home with
just one ball to spare , Nick Widdowson seeing them home with a crucial
48.
