Fifty teams spread across seven divisions started out on the John Pettit Grimsby and District Cricket League’s equivalent of the Road to Wembley, 2011.
But in the case of local sides in the Ibwest Cup, their eyes are firmly fixed on securing a place in the showpiece final at Chichester Road - home of Cleethorpes Cricket Club - before a sizeable crowd on Monday, August 1 (6pm).
It is hoped to stage the semi-finals at Augusta Street – by kind permission of Grimsby Town Cricket Club.
Third round ties must be played by June 17 and quarter-finals by July 8.
Two delayed second round ties will both now be played on Thursday, June 9:Springfield Ibwest v Phoenix 2
Woodlands v Western OB.
