Players and officials turning up for yesterday's George Marshall Trophy second round tie between Appleby-Frodingham 2nds and Alkborough at Brumby Hall, Scunthorpe, passed a group of fire engines and fire-fighters near the soon-to-open Pods leisure complex, which adjoins the cricket ground.
There was talk of an explosion having taken place.
Courtesy of the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Lincs Cricket Latest can now reveal more details.
Fire-fighters were called at 10:39am to what the service describes as an explosion in a chlorine treatment plant at the swimming baths.
The Fire Service says it administered oxygen to three people suffering from breathing difficulties, cuts and bruises. Two of the casualties were transported to hospital by ambulance.
North Lincolnshire Council is soon to open The Pods, and we saw senior councillor John Briggs (pictured) near the entry road on our way to park up at Brumby Hall.
