Ralph Gray is one of our most senior umpires on the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League panel. However, yesterday he stood in a Lincolnshire League division one game at Hirst Priory, Outcasts. A very nice tea was served and he had his eye on a tasty strawberry-topped cake. Ralph got up from the table and went off to get another cuppa. But when he came back, he found a spectator had got there first and made off with his pie. Hearing his protestations, one of the tea ladies came out the kitchen with a replacement. And even better news followed.
For Ralph won the bottle of wine - first prize in the raffle.
