There was an unusual incident in the Grimsby Town KO on Monday. Under the rules, all no balls give away a free hit. The bowler bowled a no-ball which went wide of the batsman and wicktkeeper for four (so five runs). The free hit then went for six so technically it was 11 off that one ball.
Cracking game - Grimsby 185-5 off 16 x eight-ball overs, Messingham 189-4 with 14 balls to spare. 13 sixes and 30 fours in total
Jaco Scholtz is the App-Frod overseas player, Jacob Thorne was Messingham's a couple of years ago and is now playing in the Wakefield area.
Messingham (the holders) play Fenner, from Hull, in the final next Monday.
