MEGGIES MASTER MESSINGHAM

Cleethorpes 5ths went above Messingham 3rds to claim top spot in the North Lindsey League Division One table after beating them by 40 runs at Northfield Road. The Meggies batted first and made 213 for 8 with Chris Wragg top scoring on 42, Messingham's Sheldon Sekul picking up 4 for 44 but despite the best efforts of Cameron Fletcher who hit 83 for the home side they fell short of their target, Ed Carlton taking 5 for 31 for Cleethorpes. The other game in Division One was quite eventful as Appleby Frodingham 3rds beat Scunthorpe 4ths by 76 runs at Brumby Hall. Will Theakston hit 109 not out and Jacko Schulz 107 ( retired ) as Frod posted a huge total of 291 for 6 but Scunthorpe's Ben Brumby will have reason to remember the game as he took 5 for 71 including a hat trick , indeed he went on to take four wickets in six deliveries and he also top scored for Scunthorpe hitting 42 when they replied with 215 for 9 !

DIVISION TWO
Grimsby Town 3rds appear to be running away with it in Division Two and they moved 5 points clear at the top when they were awarded the points against Brigg Town 3rds who were unable to raise a side to travel to Augusta Street. Hibaldstow 2nds climbed into third spot when winning a thriller at Haxey 3rds where They set a target of 171 all out but Haxey contributed to that score by gifting no less than 50 extras, Lol Waghorn making 49 and Dale Coy 21 for the visitors as Aaron Moody picked up 4 for 35 then Haxey fell eight runs short with Rob Young hitting 43 and Oliver Tonks 33, that man Waghorn taking 6 for 42 for Hibadstow. Alkborough 3rds also climbed the table when they beat Outcasts 3rds by 20 runs at their West Halton Ground. AJ Jenkins hit 37, Peters 33 and Kirman 32 as Alkborough reached 226 all out and the Isle side made a real fist of chasing down the target only to fall 20 runs short, Oliver Coulman making 89 and skipper Russell Fletcher 41.

DIVISION THREE
Barton Academy Vikings remain locked with Luddington at the top of Division Three after both sides won on their travels. The Vikings made 165 all-out at Everton, thanks to 51 from Shreeve and 42 from Matt Waller, Christian Dobson taking 4 for 39 for Everton and he ended the game 25 not out as Everton replied with 125 all-out, Dave Codd contributing 24 as Tom Palin took 3 for 17. Luddington travelled to Isle of Axholme neighbours Epworth and gained a comfortable 9 wicket victory after bowling them out for 65, Barry O'Brien taking 4 for 29 and Matt Mellers 4 for 30 with Mark Strawbridge scoring a creditable 27 but Darren Clark ( 38 not out ) and skipper Gareth Parkin ( 22 not out ) saw Ludd home with more than 20 overs to spare. Finally in Division Three Misterton 2nds beat Bottesford by 5 wickets to move into third place in the table. Bottesford scored 154 all out with Matt Baxter hitting 38, Darren Emmingham picking up 7 for 66 for Misterton who reached 155 for 5, thanks to Ian Coy who hit 50 for the home side.
