CLIFFHANGER REPLAY

After they tied their original Snaith Evening League Cup semi-final, Sykehouse and Fishlake went incredibly close to repeating the feat when they produced another cliffhanger which saw Sykehouse squeeze through to a Cup Final berth against Goole Town. Jim Davies hit 31 and Mick Gallagher 25 for Sykehouse who made 119 for 8 when batting first and it came down to Fishlake requiring a six off the final delivery of the match to win the tie , only for them to manage a couple , despite an early 39 from Josh Mason, Phil Sanders taking 3 for 30 for the triumphant Sykehouse side.

Result: Sykehouse win by 3 runs and will meet Goole Town in Final


Arthur Brant Semi Finals
Hirst Courtney will meet Pollington in the Arthur Brant Final on July 26th after both had convincing wins in their Semi Final ties. Hinch scored 36 and Emery 31 as Hirst set a target of 165 for 5 against Sturgethorpe who replied with 125 for 7 thanks chiefly to Kirk who made 35, Emery, Dunn and Wild all picking up two wickets each whilst Chris Welburn was the hero for Pollington when scoring 91 as they reached 200 for 5 against Goole Firemen, opener Hopkinson adding 45 with Mick West picking up 3 for 34 for the Firemen who then made 101 for 8 in response, Whaley scoring 37 and C Sugden 26 not out with Paul Baker taking an impressive 4 for 19 for the visitors.

Result: Hirst Courtney win by 40 runs

Goole Firemen v Pollington
Pollington : 200 for 5 ( C Welburn 91 ; S Hopkinson 45 ) Mick West for 34
Firemen : 101 for 8 ( J Whaley 37 ; C Sugden 26 no ) P Baker 4 for 19
Result: Pollington win by 99 runs
