Outcasts 2nds have yet to taste defeat this season and they remain in second place in Division Three after a terrific 110 runs home victory over Clee Town Laportes, WRITES GLEN SANDS.
There was a very encouraging debut from new signing Deol Singh who hit 78 runs , took 2 for 30 and pouched three catches ! Andy Torr , skippering for the injured Jason Whiteley watched his side rack up 229 for 6 with Anthony Fitzgerald making 49 and club chairman Mark Coulman 45 to add to Deol's 78 and another new man Danny Hilton also hit a late 21 to impress in his first game. Alex Fletcher then took centre stage when picking up 4 for 26 from ten splendid overs as Laportes were bowled out for 106, Hilton and 14 year old Adam Wroot each taking two wickets to help earn their team twenty valuable points in their quest for a top two finish.
The next fixture on July 19th will be another big test as they entertain league leaders Cleethorpes 3rds who they will hope to gain ground on if they can win.
