JULY 6 AMAZING SMILE NORTH LINDSEY CRICKET LEAGUE ROUND-UP BY GLEN SANDS

It was Semi Finals day in the Amazing Smile North Lindsey League on July 6th with four scheduled games although a heavy coastal downpour meant that the First Division game between Grimsby Town and Haxey had to be postponed.

AMAZING SMILE NLL DIVISION ONE KO CUP SEMI FINAL
The other Division One tie was a high scoring affair which went the way of Scunthorpe Town who pipped Broughton by eleven runs. Scunthorpe skipper Tim Foster top scored with 65 as his team made 182 all out , David Tierney taking 3 for 17 for Broughton who then hit 49 along with 40 from team mate Brett Fish as they replied with 171 all out , Simon Leek picking up figures of 4 for 34 to help see Town into the Final , to be held on Sunday August 31st.

AMAZING SMILE NLL DIVISION THREE KO CUP SEMI FINALS
Bawtry CC can celebrate their first season in the Amazing Smile NLL with a Cup Final appearance on August 10th following their comprehensive victory over Misterton. Grant Fleming scored an outstanding 97 not out , added too by Syid K Abbass who hit 61 and Syid A Abbass ( 43 ) in a total of 229 for 4 and despite the best efforts of Andy Harlow who made 76 not out and Simon Bramham ( 30 ) Misterton were restricted to 144 for 8 , Sean Harrison taking 4 for 14 for the winning team. They will meet Messingham in the Final who overcame Barton Vikings by 44 runs , posting a target of 127 with Matthew Jones hitting 32 , Tom Palin taking 4 for 34 for the Vikings who were then bowled out for 83 , Deon Spikings top scoring with 23 not out as Jones took 4 for 13 and Isaac Hammond 3 for 20 for Neil Birkitt's side.
