
After an easy win over Normanby Park in the opening round South Kelsey Cricket Club entertained Shipston-on-Stour in the area final of the National Knockout Village Competition at the Nettleton Mines ground, Holton-le-Moor.
The Stratford on Avon area side hit 248-8. Pick of the home bowlers was Marcus Meadows with 4-33, closely followed by Connor Hawkins with 2-41. Hawkins top scored for Kelsey with 51 as the hosts were all out for a respectable 174. The visitors won the tie to progress to the area final in a game which was played in an good spirit.
On their web site Shipston reported: "The home side were fine hosts and provided an excellent bbq and a beer or two, for which Shipston players and supporters alike were most appreciative."
