Dan Duke recorded the South Lincolnshire & Border League’s best bowling figures of the weekend to help Billingborough retain their unbeaten record at the top of Division One.
Duke took seven for 42 as Moulton Harrox were out for 100, a total the leaders overtook for the loss of one wicket.
Stamford stay second following their defeat of bottom side Bourne, Brian Bennett taking five wickets for just 11 runs for Stamford and Belton Park posted a similar result, staying third after beating Market Deeping 2nd who are now only one place above Bourne.
The surprise result of the day came in Division Two where Stamford 2nd demolished leaders Skegness for just 61 and went on to win by seven wickets. This allowed Billingborough 2nd to close the gap at the top following their nine wicket win over Boston 3rd, Thomas Cook staying third despite going down to Heckington and Cavaliers shooting back into the top half of the table after beating Sleaford Sunday.
Ropsley’s new-look team picked up valuable points with a win over Spalding 2nd who are now fourth, four points behind Thomas Cook. Andrew Jones hit 89 for Ropsley in their six wicket victory.
Division Three’s top team also suffered a reversal, North Luffenham going down to Grantham 2nd. Moulton Harrox Sunday moved into second, having caught up their game in hand over Spalding 3rd, who were without a game.
