ISLEONIANS WITHDRAW

DIVISION ONE
None of the three scheduled fixtures produced a positive result in the North Lindsey League Division One on July 17th as the inclement weather saw three abandonments across the county. Leaders Caistor Cougars inserted Appleby Frodingham 3rds at Brumby Hall with the Steelmen making 155 for 5 thanks to Kieren Watson's 32 , Jack Dixon's 31 and Mick Bramley's 27 not out then the Cougars reached 20 for 1 when the rain forced the players off and it was a similar story at Barton where second placed Grimsby made 168 due in the most part to Steve Crossley who hit 63 before the Vikings replied with 109 for 4 , then came the rain. Cleethorpes 5ths v Scunthorpe 4ths was postponed without a ball being bowled.

DIVISION TWO
Just one game in Division Two and it brought a 23 runs victory for Barton 4ths at Haxey 3rds , Nathan Jones scoring 25 as Barton made 120 , Oliver Tonks picking up three wickets for the Isle side who were then bowled out for 97 Lucas Waller taking 5 for 22 for the visitors.

DIVISION THREE
With the record of Isleonians being expunged following their withdrawal from the league Misterton 2nds have benefited as their rivals were deducted the points gained against them and they benefited again as the weather interupted two of the three remaining Third Division matches. Everton 3rds did manage to pick up three points when beating Bottesford by 132 runs , posting a total of 163 all out thanks to 65 from Chambers and 32 not out from Rehman who then took an incredible 9 for 6 as Bottesford were bowled out for just 31 , Rehman missing out on the fabled 10 wicket haul by just one wicket. Luddington bowled Upton cum Kexby out for 84 thanks chiefly to Danny Taylor who took 3 for 11 although the innings was memorable for a quite stunning one handed catch by veteran Ludd stalwart Barry O'Brien , then the rain fell to prevent any further action and finally Broughton 4ths were thwarted by the weather at Normanby Park where Matt Hammond hit 63 as they set a target of 148 for 8 and they were going well having reduced Normanby to 25 for 4 when the wet stuff ended their hopes.
