SNAITH HIGHLIGHTS, SCORES AND FIXTURES

By Glen Sands

DIVISION ONE
Fishlake missed the opportunity to climb above Askern at the top of the table when they suffered their first game of the season , going down by 36 runs at Drax Village who set a target of 128 for 7 only for the visitors to reply with 92 for 7 and that defeat allowed last season's Champions Luddington to close the gap along with Drax following their seven wicket win over Sykehouse out on the Isle of Axholme , Sykehose being restricted to 72 for 8 with 31 from Michael Smith before Graham Clark , who also hit 31 and fellow opener Jamie Belton ( 30 ) to aid Ludd to a comfortable victory. The other Division One game saw Burn continue to find their feet after their promotion when they beat Goole Town by 22 runs , setting a total of 119 for 6 thanks in the main to L Adamson who ended 45 not out after which Town were bowled ourt for 97.

DIVISION TWO
Two of the three scheduled games in Division Two were lost to the wet conditions following the earlier rain in midweek , the games at Goole ( Firemen ) who would have hosted Hensall and Hirst Courtney who were due to meet Sturgethorpe so the only action in this Division saw Howden Town defeat Carlton Towers despite a monumental effort from Mark Holmes of Carlton. Andy Boggitt scored 56 as Howden set a target of 142 for 9 and Carlton appeared set to clinch a valued three points as Holmes raced to 103 onlt to be caught on the boundary off what many thought was a no ball after which Towers slumped to 129 all out , some 13 runs short of Howden's score.

DIVISION THREE
Pollington joined Airmyn on 13 points at the top of the table after winning by 6 wickets at Thorne Colliery who made 65 for 6 when batting first , James Stewart hitting 24 for the Colliery side and he also took 3 for 11 in Pollington's response which saw Tim Weaver score 22 not out and C Welburn 29 not out as the visitors eased home.
