Yesterday it was very, very hot and muggy on many grounds. But was the heat getting to some of us involved in the Lincs League premier division match between Messingham and Appleby-Frodingham 2nds at Northfield Road?
For several out in the middle were sure they could see a pink horse away in the distance - in a a paddock beyond the ground.
As one of the Frod batsmen observed - his eyesight being much better than the umpire's - it also had a white tail.
After the match a young lady spectator, having heard talk of the mysterious pink horse, went off round the ground to confirm the sighting but came back and said she could find nothing.
None of us had stepped foot in the bar at that point. Honestly!
