CENTURY FOR WELBURN

Mark Spetch hit 52 and Ben Earl 25 as Goole Town booked a place in the Snaith League Shield when narrowly winning a tight match at Burn who had earlier made 130 for thanks to R Webster ( 31 ) and R Adamson 26 no ) Manning picking up 3 for 8 for Town who won by three wickets with just two balls to spare. Their opponents in the July 12th Final are not yet known however as there was a quite remarkable tie at Sykehouse against the old enemy Fishlake , Andy Edwards scoring 40 and Phil Sanders 25 in Sykehouse's total of 124 for 8 which was then mirrored by Fishlake for whom Richard Copley hit 34 and Tim Elliott 30. The two teams will replay on Monday July 5th.

Arthur Brant Trophy Quarter Finals
Chris Welburn hit an impressive 123 not out for Pollington as they set a huge target of 196 for 3 against Airmyn who replied with 115 for 8 , Roper top scoring with 41 not out for the Percy Arms side and that will send Pollington to play Goole Firemen on July 5th in the Semi Finals following their narrow 19 runs vicftory over Eggborough , Liam Mitchell hitting 24 for the Firemen in their 105 target only for Eggborough to be bowled out for 86. The other Semi Final will see Hurst Courtney entertain Sturgethorpe , Hurst easing to a comfortable 9 wicket win over Howden who were bowled out for 79 before Hurst cruised to their win whilst Sturgethorpe successfully chased down the 94 for 7 that Carlton Towers posted for the loss of just three wickets.
