Cricket veterans aged 50-plus across northern Lincolnshire are being invited to play in a special charity match.
It will be staged on Sunday, September 11 at Alkborough CC’s West Halton Lane ground (2.30pm start).
Those wishing to play should call 01652 655134 (answer machine) or e-mail scoopfisher@aol.com
The players will contribute £5 for their tea and match fee, and a raffle will be held.
Proceeds from the match will go to a local charity, yet to be announced.
The forthcoming end-of-season game will be the seventh since the charity match was established, previous encounters having been staged by Outcasts and Keelby.
The games usually draw a good crowd and spectators are welcome to go along on September 11 and watch the veterans perform in the 40 overs a side contest.
Many of the players have retired from local club cricket, but some are still performing regularly, including Outcasts’ all-rounder Ian Fletcher (PICTURED), who skippers one of the 50-plus teams.
A number of those taking part are now umpires.
