SNAITH EVENING HIGHLIGHTS AND FIXTURES

SNAITH & DISTRICT EVENING LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE
Askern took advantage of Fishlake's bye week when they gained a hefty 95-run victory over Drax Village, Rhys Gibbon hitting 77 Ash Towler 47 not out and Andy Lunn 33 in the Welfare's total of 204 for 4 before Drax were bowled out for 108 whilst last season's Champoins Luddington missed the chance to close on the top two when they were well beaten at Goole Town who's young guns skittled them out for 78 with only skipper Mark Coulman reaching beyond twenty (22), Louis Sugden taking 4 for 9 from 4 overs then opening batsman Ben Earl guided Goole home with an unbeaten 46 from 79 for 3. That was Goole's first win of the season and the same applies to Burn who posted a total of 145 for 7 at Sykehouse, thanks chiefly to Ed Clark who scored 51 and Mark Webster who added 27 then the visitors restricted Sykehouse to 108 for 8 in reply despite 47 not out from Edwards.

DIVISION TWO
Hensall took over at the top of Division Two when they beat previous leaders Sturgethorpe by 87 runs, scoring 180 for 4 when batting first , Richard Whaley hitting 62 and Andrew Barker 54 then Whaley starred with the ball when picking up 3 for 20 as Sturgethorpe wqere bowled out for 93 and Hirst Courtney moved above Howden Town in the table following their victory against them , Howard hitting 78 not out in Hirst's total of 123 for 4 before Town were reduced to 109 all out , S Chatham scoring 35 to add to his 3 for 26 whilst Matt Smith contributed 20 in a losing cause. Finally in Division Two Carlton Towers gained their first win of 2010 when comfortably chasing down 126 against Goole Firemen, Morris taking 3 for 15 before Mark Holmes struck 75 in Carlton's 127 for 1.

DIVISION THREE
Airmyn won the battle of the two unbeaten sides in Division Three but it was a tight affair as Airmyn set a target of 161 for 9 and were relieved to see Pollington fall eight runs short whilst there was a low scoring game between Thorne Colliery and Eggborough which saw the latter successfully chase down a total of 90 all out with just two wickets in hand.

RESULT : ASKERN win by 95 runs

Goole : 79 for 3 ( B Earl 46 not out )
RESULT : GOOLE TOWN win by 7 wickets

SYKEHOUSE v BURN
Burn : 145 for 7 ( E Clark 51 ; M Webster 27 )
Sykehouse : 108 for 8 ( J Edwards 47 not out )
RESULT : BURN win by 37 runs



DIVISION TWO

CARLTON TOWERS v GOOLE FIREMEN
Firemen : 126 all out S Morris 3 for 15
Carlton : 127 for 1 ( M Holmes 75 )
RESULT : CARLTON TOWERS win by 9 wickets

HOWDEN TOWN v HIRST COURTNEY
Hirst : 123 for 4 ( B Howard 78 not out ) S Chatham 3 for 26
Howden : 109 all out ( S Chatham 35 ; M Smith 20 )
RESULT : HIRST COURTNEY win by 14 runs

STURGETHORPE v HENSALL
Hensall : 180 for 4
Sturgethorpe : 93 all out
RESULT : HENSALL win by 87 runs

DIVISION THREE

AIRMYN v POLLINGTON
Airmyn : 161 for 9
Pollington : 153 all out
RESULT : AIRMYN win by 8 runs
