STEELMEN WIN THRILLER - WHEATLEY LEAVE LEAGUE

NORTH LINDSEY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE K.O. CUP SEMI-FINAL
Appleby Frodingham 3rds won a thriller against neighbouring Scunthorpe 4ths to book a Final berth versus Messingham 3rds at Hibaldstow on August 21st. Frod batted first , making 162 all out with Matt Moreland hitting 32 and Brandon Handley 27 as Sarkar took 4 for 30 and Ben Brumby 3 for 38 then Sarker scored 59 and Garmesh Chand 42 as Scunthoe looked set to cruise to victory only for Jack Dixon to pick up an impressive 4 for 14 to leave the visitors four runs short of the hosts total.

DIVISION TWO CUP SEMI
Haxey 3rds gained a relatively comfortable win over Hibaldstow 2nds who were bowled out for 140 on the Isle , Simon Pullan top scoring with 28 whilst Arron Moody took 4 for 22 then NicK Bisby hit a splendid 80 and Graham Skelton 45 as Haxey eased to 141 for 2 and they will meet Broughton 3rds in the Final to be held at Barton on Sunday August 28th following the resignaton from the North Lindsey League of Wheratley & Leverton who would have been Broughton's opponents in the second Semi Final. Wheatley's results are to be expunged from the league tables for Division Two.

Haxey : 141 for 2 ( N Bisby 80 ; G Skelton 47 )
RESULT : Haxey 3rds win by 8 wickets

WHEATLEY & LEVERTON v BROUGHTON 3RDS Postponed - Wheatley & Leverton have withdrawn from the North Lindsey League.

RESULT : Broughton 3rds win by default

DIVISION THREE
Misterton 2nds beat Bottesford in the only Third Division match bowling Bottesford out for 92 thanks chiefly to skipper Darren Emmingham who took 4 for 40 whilst Hussain hit 24 and M Khan 23 for the visitors and in a bizarre finish Khan bowled five wides when the scores were level to put Misterton on 97 for 7 , Mark Boscolo scoring 28 and Emmingham 25 with John Danson taking a creditable 4 for 37 for Bottesford. Broughton 4ths should have entertained Upton cum Kexby in this Division but Upton were unable to raise a side to make the journey which means that Misterton now need just one single point to win the title.
