CUP FINAL AT ALKBOROUGH

NLL DIVISION THREE KO CUP SEMI FINALS
There will be Gainsborough village flavour to the North Lindsey League KO Cup Final at Alkborough on September 4th as holders Upton cum Kexby beat Broughton 4ths whilst Everton saw off Misterton in the other Semi. Broughton did well to field a team against Upton cum Kexby as they were involved in the Bob Welton Cup Final on the same day and they gave a decent account of themselves , bowling Kexby out for 136 before replying with 85 themselves , Tom Wray picking up 4 for 13 for the visitors and that sets them up for a Final against Everton 3rds who overcame League leaders Misterton 2nds.

NLL DIVISION ONE
Things are really hotting up in the chace for the First Division title as leaders Caistor Cougars were beaten by Barton Acadamy Vikings whilst Grimsby Town 3rds moved level on points with them after beating Cleethorpes 5ths. Joe Brunwin hit a magnificent 113 not out for the Vikings who hit 194 for 3 when batting first at Caistor who were restricted to 163 for 9 in reply , Alex McKitton top scoring with 55 as James Micklethwaite took 3 for 28 for the Vikings who climbed off the foot of the table with this victory. Cleethorpes 5ths are bottom now following their seven wicket defeat at the hands Grimsby Town, the Meggies scoring 147 for 7 before Grimsby eased to 148 for 3 in reply to improve their hopes of lifting the title. Scunthorpe 4ths are third in the league ladder now after a comprhensive ten wicket win over Messingham 3rds who were dismissed for 136 , Danny Rands hitting 65 and Kieran Lindley 39 with Jack Snowden taking 4 for 28 then Ian Snowden hit 74 not out and Sen 44 not out as Ton romped to victory.

NLL DIVISION TWO
Andy Genney's Barton Town 4ths brought their season to a close with an excellent win against Hibaldstow 2nds who batted first nd made 147 for 9 thanks chiefly to 36 from Nash , veteran Barton bowler George Phillips picking up 3 for 46 for the Humbersiders who replied with 149 for 6 as Mark Austin made 37 , Tom Palin 31 and Alan Sanderson 30 but it was a stoic innings of 19 from 35 overs by Tim Palin that guided his team to a four wicket win.

DIVISION THREE
Luddington climbed into second spot after they won by 6 wickets at Normanby Park who were bowled out for 84 with Andy McDaid top scoring on 35 not out , Graham Clark and Barry O'Brien both taking 3 for 14 for the Isle side for whom Andy Lawson hit 43 not out to win the game for his club.
