IBWEST CUP PICTURE SPECIAL

Springfield Ibwest get their hands on the cup.

Springfield Ibwest are the new holders of the coveted Ibwest Cup.
They beat One Medical 1 in Monday night’s showpiece final before a good-sized crowd at Cleethorpes Cricket Club.
Batting first, One Medical found it hard going against some tight bowling and were indebted to an impressive, unbeaten 36 from wicketkeeper/batsman Dale Coy for being able to post 84 for six.
Springfield were given the steady start they needed and once their openers had both been dismissed by Elliott Drinkell, they cruised to victory through the efforts of Andy Haith (21 not out) and Mike Chamberlain (23 not out).
Mike was adjudged man of the match by umpires Gordon Turner and Colin Butters.
Master of ceremonies for the presentation ceremony was league chairman Colin Kennedy, who welcomed VIP guests Councillor Sue Pickett, the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, and Consort Doug Pickett, who both stayed to watch the entire game.
The competition started in late April with 50 teams taking part, culminating in semi-finals at Grimsby Town CC’s Augusta Street ground and the final at Chichester Road.
