DRAX FAIL TO TURN ON THE POWER

Neither Luddington nor Outcasts - the North Lincs sides - had a game in the Snaith and District Evening Cricket League during the latest round of fixtures. But there were some outstanding performances.
Three clubs share the lead in Division One, whilst Airmyn head the Division Two table and Howden have began well in Division Three.

DIVISION ONE
Title holders Fishlake are one of the three leading sides following their 89 runs victory over Drax Village. Dave Johnson hit 78 , Josh Mason 42 and Stuart Coleman 35 not out in a total of 179 for 2 then Drax replied with 90 for 6 as the light faded whilst at Askern the home side posted a total of 113 for 5 thanks chiefly to Aaron Gillies who made 41 and Adam Towler 21 before Hensall replied with 85 for 5 , Wright top scoring with 25 as Josh Gillies took 2 for 13 for Welfare. Finally in Division One Gary Strephan struck 44 for Sykehouse at Goole Town as they reached 98 for 7 but Kunwar Bansil also made 44 as Goole overhauled the total for the loss of just two wickets.

Askern v Hensall
Askern : 113 for 5 ( A Gillies 41 ; A Towler 21 )
Hensall : 85 for 5 ( T Wright 29 no ) J Gillies 2 for 13
Result : Askern win by 28 runs

Fishlake v Drax Village
Fishlake : 179 for 2 ( D Johnson 78 ; J Mason 42 ; S Coleman 34 no )
Drax : 90 for 6
Result : Fishlake win by 89 runs

Goole Town v Sykehouse
Sykehouse : 98 for 7 ( G Strephan 44 ) L Hayward 3 for 20
Goole : 99 for 2 ( K Bansil 44 )
Result : Goole Town win by 8 wickets

DIVISION TWO
Airmyn took over at the top of the Second Division table after a 50 runs victory over Burn which saw Rob Holah hit a magnificent 115 not out , aided by Wayne Smith who finished on 46 not out as the team from the Percy Arms hit 179 for 3 and despite a defiant 59 from Adamson Burn fell short of their target with Danny Cotton chipping in to pick up 2 for 12 as the wickets were shared around. Hirst Courtney set Carlton Towers a tough task when registering a total of 154 for 6 but Carlton won through by seven wickets in an exciting match and finally Pollington picked up their first win of the season when bowling Goole Firemen out for 110 of which Mark West hit an impressive 53 , Baker taking 3 for 14 for the home side who reached 112 for 4 thanks to 49 not out from Ian Mileham and 28 from P Barnes.

Hirst Courtney v Carlton Towers
Hirst : 154 for 6

Result : Carlton Towers win by 7 wickets

Pollington v Goole Firemen
Firemen: 110 all out ( Mark West 53 ) P Baker 3 for 14
Pollington : 112 for 4 ( I Mileham 49 no ; P Barnes 28)
Result : Pollingotn win by 6 wickets

DIVISION THREE
Howden made it two out of two wins to top the early Division Three table and they eased to avictory over Thorne Colliery whom they reduced to 78 for 7 , Jake Taylor hitting an unbeaten 33 for Thorne but it was'nt enough as Howden on 79 for 2 thanks to Matt Somerford who made 43 and James Beaton who finished on 24 not out. Drax Village 2nds recorded their first win of the campaign when bowling Eggborough out for 67 , C Adamson taking 3 for 11 , then replying with 69 for 2 , Calvert guiding them home with 24 not out.
