TOP GAMES IN PROSPECT

By Ann Boulton

Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League champions Bourne travel up the A15 on Saturday (April 30) seeking win against 2010 runners-up Sleaford this weekend after both sides went down heavily in the first week of the season.
But Sleaford have been here before, losing heavily in their first fixture last year and will undoubtedly bounce back to give their visitors a keen contest.
On of the most hard-fought matches is likely to be at Cross O’Cliff Court where Bracebridge Heath take on Skegness after each suffered a wash out in their first game and had to settle for a share of the points.
Bracebridge’s record breaking batsmen Vikram Atri and Karanjit Bansal are sure to find the Skegness attack more of a handful while the seasiders’ line-up, which looks strong on paper, will be keen to test out the home side’s new crop of bowlers.
Lindum, who got off to fine start last week, will be looking for another 20-pointer at home to Nettleham while Woodhall Spa, who share top spot with Lindum, travel to Louth full of confidence after their demolition job on Sleaford.
On a batsman-friendly Grimsby track, spinner George Linde nevertheless looked a very good prospect and could find Hartsholme more to his liking – though the home side’s opening bat Warren Nel may have other ideas as he looks to build on last weekend’s good innings.
And Boston’s new opening partnership, Jonny Cheer and Matt Ward, will aim to take advantage of Market Deeping’s short boundary when they travel to Outgang Road to try and build on their good start.
All the league’s teams will be in action again on Monday for the first round of the Winkworth Cup – three 20/20 games played at four grounds. Boston host Market Deeping and Nettleham; Lindum is the venue for Hartsholme and Bourne; Grimsby and Woodhall Spa are in the group at Louth; and Bracebridge Heath, Skegness and Sleaford fight it out at Sleaford. The first match is at 10.30am - the loser then stays on to play at 1.30pm and the final game is at 4.30pm.

SATURDAY FIXTURES (noon start)
Bracebridge Heath v Skegness
Hartsholme v Grimsby
Lindum v Nettleham
Louth v Woodhall Spa
Market Deeping v Boston
Sleaford v Bourne
