Grantham, Sleaford 2nd and Belton Park all picked up maximum points in the first full weekend of Division One in the South Lincolnshire & Border League.
Daniel Gascoyne did the damage for Grantham, taking five wickets to help bowl out Boston 2nd for 107, a total Grantham overtook with only two down.
James Rickett also took five for Sleaford 2nd against Woodhall Spa 2nd who were all out for 143 despite Charles Wright’s 51. Sleaford went on to win by five wickets.
And in Belton Park’s game there were three half-centuries, Alex Wheatley making 50 in Market Deeping 2nd’s total of 126 while Dave Richardson and Richard Cocks hit half-centuries as Belton won by nine wickets.
Elsewhere, Stamford continued their good start to their campaign in the top flight with an 18 point victory over Bourne 2nd for whom Robert Bentley made the only century of the day with 100 not out. This helped Bourne to 173 for eight but Stamford reached their target for the loss of only three wickets, Andrew Hulme hitting an unbeaten 54.
Champions Billingborough also set off well after restricting Moulton Harrox to 151 for eight, Jack Barnett hitting 84. David Gollop then made 51 as Billingborough won by seven wickets.
And despite being distracted by a rugby-playing streaker halfway through the game, Lindum Ramblers kept their concentration to beat Spalding by six wickets, Liam Moir-Holland and Grant Watkins hitting 54 and 62 not out respectively for the Lincoln side.
In Division Two, last season’s challengers Welby went down for the second week running, being bowled out for 88 after Thomas Cook had made 171 for five in their innings, Vinit Shah with 66.
Division Three’s only game saw Spalding 3rd beat league newcomers Pinchbeck by four wickets.
