AUGUST 16 READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB CRICKET LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION BY ANN BOULTON

Bourne maintained their lead at the top of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League but not before bottom side Market Rasen had made them fight all the way for their points.
Batting first, Rasen made 207 for eight, Will Bradford hitting 100.  Bourne then found themselves 78 for four before going on to win by three wickets, Albie Wright claiming five victims for Rasen.
One place off the bottom, Billingborough gained six points on 10th placed Grimsby who fell victim to Tim McIntosh in both innings.  Sleaford’s New Zealand overseas player took six for 24 as Grimsby were bowled out for 115 then hit an unbeaten 79 to take his side to an eight wicket win that moved them up to fifth place.
At London Road, Billingborough restricted Louth to 215 for nine, of which Graham West hit 63.  The visitors were then bowled out for 154.
The only draw of the day came at Cross O’Cliff Court where Bracebridge Heath’s top eight batsmen all made double figures, Paul Cook topping the totals with 42.  This took the home side to 240 for eight and Matt Bradley then went on to take five wickets as Lindum were held to 209 for nine, Charlie Tomlinson with 61 and Will Wright 57.
Skegness recorded the highest score of the day after Kiwi Brendan Young had his best day of the season since joining the seasiders.
Young hit 126 as Skegness reached 307, Peter Houghton contributing 69 before the final wicket fell in the 50th over.  Young then bowled eight overs, three of them maidens and took six for 14 to help bowl Spalding out for 66.
Ben O’Brien also took six wickets in a low scoring game at Market Deeping where Woodhall Spa were bowled out for 162.  Deeping then found the going tough against the Wooodhall bowlers and were all out for 63.
