BORDER BOYS UNDER WAY

From Ann Boulton

Newly promoted Stamford got their Division One campaign in the South Lincs and Border League off to a flying start when they picked up 20 points with a 10 wicket win over Spalding, with Chris Bore hitting an unbeaten 82.
Market Deeping also set off well, winning a tighter game against Boston 2nd who failed by 13 runs to reach their opponents’ total of 215 of which Richard Witt hit 69. Luke Gilding made 73 for Boston but the final wicket fell on 202.

Sleaford Sunday carried on where they left off in 2010 with a three wicket win over Welby in Division Two and in Division Three, Baston made the highest total of the day of 235 for four, Chris Bower failing by just two runs to hit the first century of the season. Spalding 3rd were then bowled out for 120.
Grantham 2nd, who found victories hard to come by last year, started off with a five wicket win over Moulton Harrox for whom Jack Barnett made an unbeaten 90 while Lewis Dann hit 67 for Grantham.
