LET'S ALL HAIL THE GREAT BRITISH WEATHER

Picture and report from Graham Hackney

Cleethorpes 1st X1's opening Yorkshire League encounter at Scarborough became an early victim of the wet weather when the league took the unprecedented step of cancelling the whole league programme.
With groundstaff struggling to prepare wickets, all Yorkshire league fixtures that had been planned for last Saturday have now been re-scheduled for Saturday Sept 15.
Cleethorpes now have to wait until this coming weekend when they will open their campaign at Hull before travelling to Goole Town in the first round of the National Knockout on Sunday.
Cleethorpes 2nd X1's opening Lincs League Premier Division clash with Nettleham was also washed out, while the 3rd X1 saw their matches at Horncastle on Saturday and the home clash with Louth 2nds on Sunday wiped out with big puddles on the Chichester Road outfield.
Cleethorpes 4th X1's match at Alford 2nds was eventually cancelled with a massive hailstorm halting proceedings as the match was about to start.
