This afternoon I'm at Heslam Park, officiating at the Scunthorpe Town v Alkborough 2nds Lincolnshire League division one encounter.
Should be an interesting game, with promotion-chasing Town the clear favourites against 'Chippy' Clay's lowly team.
Alkborough 2nds have yet to demonstrate the impressive form they showed last summer to gain promotion from division two - but, on paper, they should be doing much better. Maybe a much more successful second half of the campaign is on the cards.
Town should have a super chance of making the promotion places this season, especially as current leaders Cleethorpes 3rds cannot gain promotion, with their 2nds already occupying a premier division place.
