Tourism Australia has launched a fun new Flick Cricket game on the Go Ashes app ahead of the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11 that will start on 25 November in Brisbane.
The game replaces the competition element that had been hosted on the app to give one lucky winner the chance to go to the Ashes Test in Brisbane.
A must for any visitor to Australia, the Go Ashes app contains in-depth destination information on the five host cities and beyond, including image galleries, bespoke videos featuring Aussie cricketing legends Michael Bevan, Justin Langer, Chris Hartley, Darren Lehmann and Damien Fleming, a guide to eating and drinking in each city and must-see must-do events and activities recommendations.
Cricket fans can get the lowdown on the Series plus team news, results updates and live scoring as it happens. The app also contains a ‘Twickets’ section for cricketing Tweeters, and now the app’s new Flick Cricket game is a fun way to pass the time!
Tourism Australia General Manager (UK and Europe), Rodney Harrex says: “The Go Ashes app has been an exciting development for Tourism Australia and, along with creating a buzz for the forthcoming Ashes Series, it contains useful information for any holidaymaker travelling to Australia. We look forward to welcoming English fans to Australia for the Ashes Series later this year. Attending a sporting event of this calibre as part of an Aussie holiday is an incredible thing to do. We would encourage the travelling fans to have a go at some iconic Aussie experiences while they’re down there such as learning to surf, wine tasting and beach cricket. Getting to the outback is a must-do too.”
The app is free of charge.

I really like the concept of this new app from Tourism Australia. Why didn't Cricket Australia come up with this?
