SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE & BORDER CRICKET LEAGUE MAY 31

SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE & BORDER LEAGUE

May 31

It was all change at the top of the South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division as Grantham scored a slender two wicket win over former leaders Boston.
Grantham now share top place with Lindum Ramblers who moved up from third following a nine wicket victory over Long Sutton while Bourne 2nd’s win at Welby put them in third above Boston
However, just six points separate these four teams.  Simon Oakes’ five wickets for Grantham took his total for the season to 19 while in the batting averages, Sleaford’s Simon Godby needs just one run to pass 250.
In Division Two, Market Deeping suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Grantham 2nd for whom Adrian Wing took five wickets.
Deeping stay top, five ahead of Grantham with Spalding 2nd in third place after their win over Baston.  Ansar Hussain hit 88 for Spalding but Saihan Azim of Boston 2nd was the day’s top scorer and only centurion with 102 in his side’s victory over Cavaliers.
At Heckington, Nathan Garfoot’s hat trick couldn’t prevent a defeat for Billingborough 2nd who lie fifth, just one point behind their opponents.
Freiston, Lindum 3rd, Claypole and Pinchbeck are battling out the lead in Division Two.  And in the battle between the league’s two new teams, Belton Park 2nd came out on top defeating Grantham 3rd who made 116 for six, a total Belton overtook with just one wicket and nine balls of the match remaining.
