NORTH LINDSEY LEAGUE ROUND-UP BY GLEN SANDS

Second Division Alkborough are having a terrific season in the North Lindsey League's cup competitions and they booked their place in the Amazing Smile final when they won by seven wickets at Division One Caistor Cougars.
The Cougars made 170 with Harry Boulton scoring 71 and Gareth Johnson 46, but Alkborough chased down that target thanks in the main to Vaidik Kishan Raj who hit 67 not out.
They will meet Grimsby Town in the final at Chichester Road, Cleethorpes, on August 25  because Scunthorpe Town, who were involved in last Sunday's Lincs League Bob Welton Cup final  were unable to field a team to travel to Augusta Street.

DIVISION TWO
Alkborough's cup success has led to a backlog of league fixtures so they arranged to play Luddington in a midweek match and suffered their first defeat in over a year against the Isle side who set a score of 121 for 9 with 41 from Graham Clark, 22 by Ben Wicks and 20 from Andy Lawson.
Andy Williamson took five for 26, including four wickets in one over, but Alkborough were restricted to 111 for 5, Alex Jenkins hitting 30, Dave Kilgallon 26 and  Raj 28 not out as unsung hero Matt Grimbleby held his nerve at the death to pick up two for 19 for Luddington.

DIVISION THREE
Blyth  are challenging Cleethorpes for the title and they closed the gap at the top to just two points with a big win against Misterton.
Glyn Coxhill hit a superb 112 with Jake Midgeley adding 74 as Blyth posted a total of 281 for 8, Hughes taking three for 27 and Pearce three for 56.
Then Joe McCullam picked up four for 27 and Andy Carter three for 16 as Misterton were bowled out for 128, Darren Emmingham top scoring with 61.
Everton are still in with a chance of promotion following their eight-wicket win against South Kelsey who made 137, thanks to 35 from Elliot Drinkell and 34 by Neil Thompson, Ed Tofts taking five for 53 for the home side.
Steve Johnson then guided Everton home with 67 not out, aided by Ed Campbell who scored 36.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
The first final of the season takes place on Sunday, August 18 when Caistor Cougars and Grimsby Town meet in the First Division Knockout Cup, the game being played at Caistor.
In division one, Appleby-Frodingham play Hibaldstow, looking to close the gap between them and Grimsby at the top of the table.
Division Two leaders Outcasts play host to lowly Messingham, hoping to stretch their unbeaten run.
And there is a big clash at Haxey who take on Alkborough in a game that also doubles as a Divisional Cup semi-final.
Elsewhere in the Isle of Axholme, Luddington - at home to Barton Academy Vikings - will be in good heart after their excellent win over Alkborough.
The top two go head to head in division three as Cleethorpes make the long journey to Blyth - this too being a double header to decide who will play South Kelsey in the Divisional Cup final.
And there will be a derby match at Everton where Upton-cum-Kexby are the visitors.
The only other game is between South Kelsey and Misterton at the former Nettleton Mines ground at Holton-le-Moor.
