READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE AWARDS

A joint celebration of Lincolnshire Cricket brought the inauguration of two new awards – the Terry Bates Memorial Cup and the Lincolnshire Lifetime Achievement award.
The Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League joined forces once again with the County Cricket Club and Lincolnshire Cricket Ltd – formerly the Cricket Board – for a presentation night that saw Hartsholme receive an award for their progress in women and girls’ cricket
Nettleham were the inaugural winners of the Terry Bates Memorial Trophy, given in memory of the late league chairman and awarded to the club scoring the highest average pitch marks over the course of the season.
But it was the Lifetime Achievement award that had guests on their feet when it was presented to Harry Pougher of Lindum whose club also won the prestigious Wilkinson Sword for the successes enjoyed by their junior sides in 2010.
In addition to the new award, Harry was also give a framed copy of a letter of congratulation from Mike Atherton, whom Harry coached in his junior days and who still remembers him.
Local author and speaker Grahame Lloyd, the MC for the evening, introduced the prize winners who were presented with their trophies by Red Arrows Red 6 pilot, Flight Lieutenant David Montenegro.
