SEPT 7 AMAZING SMILE NORTH LINDSEY CRICKET LEAGUE ROUND-UP BY GLEN SANDS

AMAZING SMILE NLL DIVISION ONE
Alkborough are assured of at least a share of the title following their seven wickets victory at Broughton who were bowled out for 42 while Haxey finished the season with a five wicket win over Scunthorpe Town who mustered 98 out on the Isle with Ethan Tonks picking up 3 for 26 Matt Pashley hitting 29  before Tom Smith made 33 to see his team to 99 for 5.

Caistor Cougars kept their hopes of winning the league alive when they won at Everton with New Zealander Lane Tutty hitting an exceptional 99 in their total of 188 all out added too by Oliver Barrick who made 33 , Ellis Meek taking 7 for 95 for the home side who replied with 117 , Aaron Gillies scoring 65 as Chris Laister took an amazing 6 for 8. \hibaldstow had the Taylor brothers to thank for their six wicket victory over Luddington who remain in the drop zone with just one game remaining. Graham Clark hit 56 not out and Jamie Arrowsmith 34 in Ludd's total of 160 for 9 , skipper Gareth Parkin showing great tenacity when making 24 not out in an unbeaten tenth wicket stand with Clark of 57 despite a troublesome injury but Tom Taylor made 58 not out to add to his earlier haul of 6 for 32 along with 54 from brother Joe as they guided their team home with their own inbeaten stand of 93. Blyth CC were unable to field a team to play Outcasts and find themselves stranded at the foot of the table.

Messingham won the top of the table clash against Misterton to join them at the top of the table but with Misterton having now finished their campaign all eyes will be on the game between Messingham and Normanby Park which will decide the destination of the Division Three trophy. Jimmy Snee is producing the form of his career at present and he hit 68 in Messingham's total of 158 , Dave Lawson taking 6 for 59 for the home side who replied with 136 all out , skipper Darren Emmingham scoring 78 as Elliott Markham picked up 4 for 18 to help Messingham home. Caitlin Phillips will have reason to remember the game at Upton cum Kexby as she took 3 for 19 to earn the Barton Vikings a win. The Vikings set a target of 136 with no less than 36 extras , Nathan Jones making 28 as Scott Wooley took 3 for 21 but Caitlin grabbed three wickets along with two other team mates as Upton were bowled out for 102 , Todd Wray top scoring with 30 not out.
