Further to the post on your blog about seeing Umpire Sally Deegan (Newton) in the recent ACO newsletter...Saturday 13th August will live long in the memory for some cricketers within the Lincolnshire area, one in particular being Ciaron Deegan who committed himself to marrying Lincolnshire's premier female umpire, Sally Newton. The service took place on a hot Saturday afternoon (Owmby, Ciaron's club didnt have a fixture) at 3pm and he and Sally were joined by cricketing and umpiring friends at Bishop Grosseteste chapel, Lincoln, and the reception after took place at Lindum Sports Association.
In the picture attached: Extreme Left is Scunthorpe Town's Jamie Brumby (Usher), Next is Owmby's Sam Atkin (Usher) followed by Scunthorpe Town's Ben Brumby (Best Man), me (Owmby) and then Sally (Umpire).
So, as you can see, quite a cricketing day all round!
