WE'RE GETTING THERE

Much correspondence and hard work continues on the Lincs League fixture front, with re-arrangements aplenty - all being overseen by fixture secretary Glen Sands (pictured).
Below is the latest provisional list, with much still to be done until we get the final version.
It's all a far cry from the fixture meetings held by the now defunct but fondly remembered Broughton and District Evening League.
As a club representative you went round the room and spoke to the reps of all the other teams in your division, agreeing when you'd play each other. Some clubs liked to have home games on a Tuesday, some liked Wednesday, and others went for Thursday.
You then scribbled out a list of your matches and handed it in to the league.
Simple as that - and it worked. We didn't leave the meeting until everyone was happy.
If we employed that system within the Lincs League, with all the other factors involved, we would have to pitch tents on the outfield at Rase Park, Market Rasen, where meetings are held, and prepare for a week's stay at least!
