The
cricket season may be over for the players but for those who tend the grounds
it never ends.
For
the Lincolnshire Cricket Groundsmen’s Association, the season of autumn and
winter meetings is just beginning and this winter promises another
comprehensive programme, starting on Wednesday October 23rd at Lincoln Lindum
CC at 7.30pm.
The
first speaker is Laurence Gayle, editor of Pitchcare magazines and
website. Laurence has wide-ranging
knowledge and opinions of all sports.
For
this reason, the Association is issuing an open invitation to grounds managers
of all sports to come along to listen and engage with a leading industry figure
who is expected to provide an evening of lively debate.
The
cost of a season’s membership to the Lincolnshire CGA is £10 which includes all
meetings. These will feature some of the
industry’s top representatives, one of whom is Steven Pask, the principal
contractor for the main test grounds, including Lords,
Visits
from other county groundsmen and trips to visit major stadiums are also
planned, providing excellent advice and tips to the county’s groundsmen and
making the subscription very good value for money.
Regular
information on the grounds industry and the county association can be found on
the CGA's dedicated webpage, www.lincscricket.co.uk/groundsmen or by contacting
ECB Pitch Advisor and Lincolnshire CGA Chairman Martin Deans at
