VOLLEY OF SHOTS SEES GRIMSBY TOWN HOME

Despite two breaks for rain, Grimsby Town Cricket Club and Fenner completed their pre-season match at Augusta Street on Saturday and produced a thrilling game.  Fenner made what seemed respectable 153 for eight off their 40 overs and at 83 for seven Grimsby looked well beaten.  Then 18 year old Brendan Volley came in and launched an attack on the bowling that brought him 50 off about 34 balls - including several mighty sixes that saw two balls lost - and helped Grimsby to a three wicket win with two overs to spare.
Very good day despite the cold - and a really nice tea!
