HIGH CALIBRE SPEAKER AT LINCS GROUNDS MEETING NEXT WEDNESDAY
A top researcher is the speaker at the opening meeting of the Lincolnshire Cricket Grounds Association winter season.
Dr Iain James of Cranfield University has been directly involved in the ECB's recent research into the rolling, spiking and aeration of squares and will be giving a fascinating insight into the research element of the ground industry.
County Pitch Adviser Martin Deans believes the association is lucky to attract a speaker of this calibre.
“By the very nature of their work, speakers like Dr James are involved in countless lectures and presentations,” he said. “He delivers an entertaining presentation. His talk will contain much information of value to us all in the ground industry and this meeting is a must for anyone in Lincolnshire who is involved in the game of cricket.”
The meeting takes place on Wednesday, October 17 at Rustons Sports Club, Newark Road, Lincoln - a change of venue to the one previously advertised.
An open membership to the CGA costs £10 per season and the association welcomes anyone interested in grounds maintenance.
