CLUBS REGISTERING OVERSEAS PLAYERS COACHES – LINCS LEAGUE

Lincolnshire County Cricket League general secretary Andrew Richley says the full-blown UKBA requirements are only incumbent on a club when they are employing (defined as paying) a player who has played at least 5 first class matches in the last two years, and who is earning £800 pcm whilst playing and / or coaching in the UK.
The next Lincolnshire County Cricket League meeting will be on Wednesday, 18th April at Market Rasen CC's Rase Park clubhouse (7.30pm). All clubs should attend.

IMPORTANT - OVERS LIMITATION IN LINCS GAMES 2012

Whether you are a player or an umpire, and particularly if you are a team captain, please take careful note of what follows to ensure you know the maximum number of overs a bowler can send down in the games in which you may be involved in the Lincs ECB League and the Lincolnshire County Cricket League (all divisions).

LINCOLNSHIRE E.C.B. PREMIER DIVISION
A bowler may bowl one-third of the overs available for an innings (17 in 50 overs) but may only bowl a maximum of 17 overs in any innings.
Clarification from the league’s Ann Boulton: “If the game starts late and is reduced to, say, 45 overs, the bowler can bowl 15.  However, if the team batting first is bowled out in 40 overs, giving the other side 60, he may only bowl 17 (in the past he would have been able to bowl 20).”

LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET LEAGUE
The number of overs that an individual bowler can deliver in a League match is limited as follows:
  1. Premier Division – 17 overs
  2. All Other Divisions – 15 overs

EXCEPT
(AND THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT)....

Clarification from the league’s Andrew Richley: “Where the fielding side has more overs to bowl than their allotted 50 (or 45 outside the Premier Division) then the above limits will be pro-rated to ensure that no bowler delivers more than one-third of the total potential overs to be bowled in the innings. For example, in a 45-over per side game, the side batting first are bowled out in the 30th over. They will then, potentially, have 60 overs to bowl, meaning that none of their bowlers can deliver more than 20 overs.”

BROCK PARK GO NETTING

Brocklesby Park Cricket Club pre-season nets are on Wednesday, April 4,  6:45pm to 7:45pm, at Baysgarth School, Barrow Road, Barton-upon-Humber, DN18 6AE.

Yesterday saw a service in Cadney church, near Brigg, to celebrate the life of cricket personality Keith Warn, a well-known and highly respected member of the Scunthorpe and district umpires' panel, who died aged 70. Many of Keith's umpiring colleagues were there, along with present-day players from various clubs, including Brocklesby Park, with which he had close connections.

EQUIPMENT WARNING FOLLOWS THEFT

By Matt Gleadell

Morton Cricket Club have recently had some ground equipment stolen from their lock up storage container during a break in. A brand new Hayter SP36 Scarifier used only once and a Ransome Marquis 45 Mower with 10 blade cylinder that had recently had a £500.00 refurbishment. The estimated value of the two items is believed to be about £2,000. This post from Morton is both to warn other clubs to be vigilant and ensure that their own storage sheds, garages for this type of equipment are secure and also to say if any club out there comes across these items, or are offered them for sale, perhaps they would get in touch with Morton CC.
The club is also offering a financial reward of £100.00 to any one that provides information leading to the recovery of these items.
