£1,000-PLUS RAISED

Hibaldstow Cricket Club members held their presentation night on Saturday. This year it was combined with a Race Night to raise much-needed funds. As Mel Oades said of their groundsman: "Jon needs some more seed."
The evening was well-attended and just over £1,000 was raised - a tremendous result for a club that is run on an annual budget of typically less than £2,000.
Thanks, and a bunch of flowers, were given to the tea ladies and then awards were presented by visiting former chairman, Ian Wilks, to:
Jon Taylor - Batting
Garry Dixon - Bowling
Lee Robinson - Fielding
Jack Stothard - Most Improved Player
Kieron Harris - Young Player
Jon Taylor and Simon Pullan - Performance of the Season (208 opening partnership v Cherry Willingham)
Garry Dixon - Players' Player
Club achievements were also acknowledged with Dale Coy displaying the Bert Hill Trophy awarded by the North Lindsey League umpires for Fair Play, and Jon Taylor showing the Dave Savage Trophy for Lincs League Groundsman of the Year.
Dale is seen above (on the left) with Mr Wilks.
Many thanks to Mel Oades for all his hard work organising the event and especially to all the sponsors who gave so generously in these hard times.
